Nav Nirman Foundation actually began in 1989 when Walter Picardo and his wife Rosemary Picardo opened the doors of their home in New York to accommodate and treat the

East Indian population of New York City. As the treatment center grew, they found themselves treating other culturally diverse populations. Today, Nav Nirman still has a clinic in Elmhurst, Queens, New York, NY. By 1995, under the auspices of NNF, there was a fully functioning clinic serving the South

Asian community in New York.
Picardo was now free to answer the call of God to go to India and start an in-patient centre in Murbad, Thane District, Mumbai, India.
